Astronomy by Sea Kayak

Join us in a study of the stars and moon by night, and play in the serene waters of the San Juan Islands by day. This trip is scheduled during the Perseid Meteor Shower. Weather permitting, we should have a beautiful, dark night for viewing the peak of the meteor activity. Your guide, Dirk, is an astronomer by training and a sea kayak instructor by trade. He is a wealth of information celestial and aquatic.
No experience necessary. Ages 13 & over.
August 12-14 (Thurs-Saturday)
$420/adult (16 & up), $250/youth (12-15)
* Includes: kayak gear, kayak instruction, Astronomy instruction, use of a high quality scope, group camping gear, 2 breakfasts, 2 gourmet dinners—with wildharvest & local foods, natural history, camping fees at Clark Island State Marine Park, and round-trip shuttle from Bellingham, WA our Lummi Island departure point.
