Half Day Trips along the historic and sandstone sculpted shores of Bellingham Bay.

Day Trip Group on Chuckanut Island

Dates:   Every Wednesday - Sunday (May 19 - Sept 30)

Times:   Morning paddles from 10 am-1 pm and evening paddles from 5:30-8:30 pm

Cost:     $60/adult (14 & over), $35/youth (7-13 y.o.), children (6 & under) free.

"San Juander" Lummi Island Discovery Half and Full Day Trips

Half and Full Day Trips in the most amazingly beautiful and unvisited island getaway that you never knew was only 30 minutes from Bellingham!

Dates:    Every Wednesday - Sunday or by appointment (May 20 - Sept 30)

Times:    10:30 am-1:30 pm, 5:30-8:30 pm evening paddle

Half-Day Cost: $60/adult (14 & over), $35/youth (7-13 y.o.), children (6 & under) free.

Full-Day Cost: $90/adult (14 & over), $60/youth (7-13 y.o.), children (6 & under) free.

"Wild Harvest" Beach Walk and Sea Kayak Day Trip

COME FEAST ON FLOTSAM! Our two wildharvest trips are in synch with extra low tides. Join renowned ethnobotanist, wildharvest-chef, and kayaker extraordinaire Jennifer Hahn on a fun and educational foray into the watery world and intertidal zone.

"Paddle and Pedal" Bicycle and Sea Kayak Day Trip

Elakah Expeditions’ “Paddle and Pedal” day trips are a great intro to the region: The morning kicks off with an hour-long kayaking trip along the sandstone cliffs of the Salish Sea (watch for river otters, seals, and eagles). Then, it’s a brief stop at Chuckanut Island to see native Salish archaeological sites. From there, you’ll paddle to Larrabee State Park for lunch followed by an afternoon bike trip on the fern- and cedar-cloaked Interurban Trail ($90/person)

The beautifully sculpted and honeycombed sandstone around Bellingham and Chuckanut Bay is one of the largest deposits of "terrestrial sandstone" in the world?  It is over 700 feet thick below Clark's Point!  Ask your guide what terrestrial sandstone is...

"Pirates of the San Juans" Family Three-Day Sea Kayak Trip

Sea Kayaking fun for the whole family.  Private campsite overlooking Rosario Strait, Cypress and Orcas Islands.  You heard me... PRIVATE campsite... nobody else in sight for the entire weekend! Safe, exciting and we base our day around the needs of the youngest of our hearty travelers.  This trip is appropriate for everyone aged 3 to 107.

Times:   9:30 am meeting on Sat morning, finish on Mon at around 4 pm.

"San Juander 2-day" Overnight Supported Sea Kayak Trip

This is a new trip for the 2011 season.  We've heard the need for shorter trips that still get you out into the San Juan Islands, and this is just the ticket. 

Dates:  July 9-10, July 30-31, or Aug 20-21

Times:   9:30 am meeting on Saturday morning, finish on Sunday at around 5 pm.

"Summer Solstice" All Women Expedition (AWE) Three Day Sea Kayak Trip

Come explore and relax in the company of sea-going sisters. Explore beaches, forested coastlines and cliffs festooned with purple sea stars and scrumptious seaweeds. Learn to wild harvest and try 5-star sea veggie chowder, under the watchful eye of Elakah's amazing trip leaders. Look eye-to-eye with harbor seals and red-footed guillemots (little black sea birds with scarlet feet)!

"San Juander" 5-Day Sea Kayak Expedition

Five Day "San Juander" trip focuses on traveling light and fast and seeing as much of the gorgeous San Juan archipelago as possible. This trip is appropriate for ages 16 and up, and all participants should have some prior paddling experience before joining this trip.

Expedition Sea Kayak Instructional Trip

Immerse yourself in the art of kayaking in this all inclusive, field-based instructional in expedition kayaking skills.  Based off of the best parts of the ACA and BCU curriculums, we will learn the fundamentals of expedition sea kayaking: How to go maneuver your boat efficiently, how to keep your boat up right when conditions get rough, how to perform a self-rescue and how to rescue someone else, and how to navigate through the tricky waters and currents of the San Juan Islands.  Some prior paddling experience required.
